Virtualization Solutions: Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Interoperability

Increasingly, today’s data centers are moving away from legacy infrastructure to a combination of Windows and Linux based environments. Customers who can optimize how those environments work together, in particular through powerful virtualization solutions, will have significant advantage over those who cannot.  These virtualization solutions, provided exclusively by Microsoft and Novell, offer customers the choice and flexibility they need to consolidate servers, and optimize their environment, based on the platform they prefer.

Technical experts from both companies have already developed a piece of revolutionary code in our joint Interoperability Lab, called the “adapter.” This adapter allows you to run both Windows Server 2008 and SUSE Linux Enterprise virtual servers on either a Windows or Linux host machine, based on your unique workload requirements.  This virtualization technology is all you need to start turning your data center into a more flexible, heterogeneous environment.
